The PFI Centre of Excellence of the Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA) has recently published new guidance on "navigating the risks of PFI project distress." This timely guidance follows Herbert Smith Freehills' recent guidance on "navigating through to the end of legacy PFI projects." While the new IPA guidance is primarily aimed at public sector stakeholders, it also notes that private sector stakeholders may find it beneficial.

This note outlines the four parts of the new IPA guidance, along with other published and future IPA guidance, including an "Asset Condition Playbook" and insurance guidance for PFI projects.
