Going Solo: The Rise of Female Arbitrator Practice

Senior Associate and YPSC member, Maguelonne de Brugiere alongside Michele Potesta Partner, Levy Kaufmann-Kohler and YPSC member, moderated a fascinating discussion with distinguished independent female arbitrators who have all set up their own arbitrator practices, a trend we have seen growing in recent years. During this discussion, they explored everything from the panellists' motivations for starting their own independent practice, the steps they have taken and continue to take to receive ongoing arbitrator appointments, to the minutiae of financial planning both for the launch but also for the ongoing running of their practices.

What is the ERA Pledge and the YPSC?

The ERA Pledge is an initiative to improve the profile and visibility of women and to help female arbitrators secure more appointments. In just five years of existence, more than 4,700 organisations and individuals have joined the Pledge and committed to its objectives. The YPSC pursues these objectives for the next generation.
