International leading law firm Herbert Smith Freehills is delighted to announce today the promotion of three new Of Counsel in Paris: Vincent Bouvard, Thomas Herman and Noémie Laurin respectively appointed within the disputes, energy & infrastructure and corporate/M&A practices. Globally, 35 lawyers have been promoted to counsel and professional support consultant roles, with effect from 1st May 2022.
Vincent Bouvard, 36 years old, joined the Paris disputes practice in 2013 as an associate. He specialises in commercial litigation, notably in the banking sector, as well as disputes relating to commercial companies and international arbitration. He also has extensive experience in energy disputes in Africa, including international private law aspects. Vincent completed his studies at the University of Edinburgh where he obtained an LLM in commercial law. He also holds two Master's degrees from the Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas ("general private law" and "litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution").
Thomas Herman, 36 years old, joined the energy & infrastructure department in 2012 as an associate. He advises and assists clients on project development and project financing in the energy and infrastructure sectors in France, Europe, francophone North and sub-Saharan Africa. He is heavily involved in drafting and negotiating key project documents (concessions, PPP, construction contracts, O&M contracts, PPAs, GSAs and JV agreements). He also advises regularly on complex regulatory matters and permitting issues. Thomas holds a Master's degree in business public law from the Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and a Master's degree from Sciences Po Lyon.
Noémie Laurin, 36 years old, joined the corporate department in 2015 as an associate. She advises and assists clients on a wide range of domestic and cross-border private M&A transactions and capital markets transactions in France for both French and foreign clients. She also advises public and private companies in general corporate advisory work. She is a graduate from the Université Paris Nanterre where she obtained a Master's degree in business law and she also holds a LLB degree in English and French law with Maitrise from the University of Essex, Colchester (UK).
