Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Pacifico Energy Partners on a joint venture with Eiffel Investment Group. Both companies pool their resources to accelerate the development of renewable energy projects.
The joint venture will focus on the development of a portfolio of photovoltaic projects in Italy with a total capacity of approx. 300MW. Once operational, the projects are expected to provide more than 200,000 households with electricity from renewable sources. On all projects, agrivoltaic concepts (simultaneous use for both solar photovoltaic power generation and agriculture) will ensure the continuity of value-creating usage of the land for food production and farming. Eiffel will invest up to €20 million in the portfolio via its new bridge equity fund Eiffel Transition Infrastructure.
Pacifico Energy Partners GmbH is a renewable energy-focused company founded in Munich in 2016 that develops and manages wind power and photovoltaic assets across Europe.
Eiffel Investment Group, headquartered in Paris, is an investment company specializing also in the energy sector with assets under management of approx. €4.5 billion.
