International leading law firm Herbert Smith Freehills is delighted to announce the promotion of four new Of Counsel in Paris: Joëlle Chetrit in the Banking and Finance practice, Rémi Jouaneton in the Disputes practice, Camille Lartigue and Sung-Hyuk Kwon in the Corporate / M&A practice. These promotions will take effect on 1st May 2023. This year, 36 lawyers have been promoted to Of Counsel worldwide.

Joëlle Chetrit joined the Banking and Finance department in 2013 as an associate. Joëlle advises both lenders and borrowers on general banking law and structured finance matters. She specialises in project finance in the field of renewable energy (photovoltaic, wind, biomass). She assists sponsors and developers as well as lenders in all stages of project finance structuring: from the project audit phase to the implementation of the financing. A member of the Paris Bar since 2013, she holds a Master's degree in corporate law from the University of Paris Dauphine-PSL (France, 2008).

Rémi Jouaneton joined the Disputes department in 2021 after having practiced at Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel for 8 years. He handles all areas of business litigation, including criminal law as well as civil and commercial issues. As part of his activity within the criminal business law and compliance practice, Rémi assists international groups in relation to investigations or proceedings initiated by the French authorities. He also assists clients seeking to comply with the requirements of the Sapin II law and assists them in the context of inspections by the French Anti-Corruption Agency and in anticipation of such inspections. His experience covers issues related to international financial sanctions, liability of banking and financial institutions, market abuse, and money laundering. Rémi also advises companies and their officers in connection with capital transactions, shareholder disputes and their civil and criminal liability. A member of the Paris Bar since 2012, Rémi holds an LL.M. from King's College London (United Kingdom, 2011) and an LL.M. from the University of Fribourg (Switzerland, 2008). Rémi also graduated from Paris II Panthéon-Assas University with a Master’s degree in General Private Law (France, 2009), and a Master’s degree in French-Swiss Comparative Law (France, 2008). He taught corporate law at Paris II Panthéon-Assas University.

Camille Lartigue joined the Corporate / M&A practice in 2013. She advises listed and unlisted companies on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, stock exchange and capital market transactions, as well as on corporate governance and group reorganisations. She acts for French and foreign clients on domestic and cross border matters. A member of the Paris Bar since 2013, Camille graduated from Sciences Po Strasbourg in Economics and Finance (France, 2011) and hold a Master's degree in Business Law (banking and finance law) from the University of Strasbourg (France, 2011). 

Sung-Hyuk Kwon joined the Corporate / M&A practice in 2019, after having worked at Bredin Prat and Linklaters. Sung-Hyuk specialises in mergers and acquisitions involving listed and unlisted companies, capital markets transactions and securities law. He also advises listed companies on corporate governance and market abuse (MAR) matters. Sung-Hyuk is a member of the Korea Group within the firm. A member of the Paris bar since 2013, he holds a Master's degree in Financial Law from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University (France, 2012), a Master's degree in Business and Tax Law from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University and HEC Paris (France, 2011), as well as a first year in Master's degree in law and management from Paris IX Dauphine University (France, 2010). He has been a member of JACOF (association of young and active Korean in France) since its creation in 2015.
