We are pleased to announce the appointment of Justin D'Agostino to the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) Executive Committee.

In advance of the HKIAC's 30th anniversary and following the recent revision of the HKIAC Administered Arbitration Rules (see our blog post here), the HKIAC has undergone a reshuffle of its management structure. A newly formed Executive Committee of six highly respected Hong Kong and international arbitration practitioners has been chosen to direct and lead the centre in its on-going development and expansion.

Justin is the Managing Partner of Herbert Smith Freehills' China offices and also leads the international arbitration practice in Greater China. Justin has acted as counsel and advocate before tribunals in Hong Kong, London, Singapore, Beijing, Bangkok, Zurich and The Hague. Justin has experience in arbitrations under the rules of institutions including CIETAC, ICC, SIAC, LCIA, HKIAC and ICSID, as well as ad hoc arbitrations under the UNCITRAL Rules and the Permanent Court of Arbitration Optional Rules for Arbitrating Disputes Between Two States.  He also advises on arbitration-related court proceedings. He sits as an arbitrator, speaks regularly on a variety of topics relating to arbitration and international law and is a visiting professor of Tsinghua University in Beijing.

Justin comments "I am honoured to have been asked to sit on the Executive Committee of the HKIAC. Having been a member of the HKIAC Council for some years and assisted in revising the HKIAC Rules, I recognise the important place the HKIAC has in contributing to the vibrant and growing arbitration market in the Asia Pacific region. I look forward to helping shape the centre's future direction."
