During the recent election campaign, the UK Conservative Government pledged to reform public procurement law in the UK post-Brexit.  Boris Johnson announced that, by 1 January 2021, the Government would put in place a new regime which is simpler, cheaper and more geared towards promoting British business and the local economy.  However, the announcement was light on detail.  In reality, the scope for change may be constrained by the UK's continuing adherence to the WTO Agreement on Government Procurement (GPA) and by the terms of the anticipated EU-UK trade deal.
