We are delighted that our overview of recent activity, reforms and trends in relation to antitrust enforcement in the Asia-Pacific region has been published as part of the Global Competition Review Asia-Pacific Antitrust Review 2022.

Our chapter summarises notable regulatory reforms and enforcement activity across jurisdictions in the Asia-Pacific region. Notwithstanding the COVID-19 pandemic, the regulatory and institutional landscape in the Asia-Pacific region has continued to evolve as competition authorities have become more active, particularly as social distancing measures begin to ease. While digital markets remain a focus for competition authorities, we note that enforcement against cartels and abuse of dominance in other areas remains robust. As fines continue to rise across the region, the costs of infringing competition law have never been higher.

If you wish to access a full version of the chapter, or if you have questions about any of the issues covered in this chapter, please do not hesitate to contact us. The whole publication is available here.
