As we previously reported, the EU reached political agreement on the new EU Cybersecurity Act (the "Act") in March 2019. The Act has now been published in the Official Journal and the majority of its provisions came into effect on 27 June 2019.
The Act aims to provide a coordinated approach to cyber security across Europe and will set up a framework for the establishment of European cyber security certification schemes.
Certain elements of the Regulation require specific activity from Member States and so have a later deadline of 28 June 2021.
