The Master of the Rolls, Lord Dyson, has designated five members of the Court of Appeal to hear appeals arising from the Jackson reforms. This implements Lord Justice Jackson's recommendation that particular Court of Appeal judges should be designated to consider issues concerning the interpretation or application of the Civil Procedure Rules arising from the reforms. His recommendation was that two judges should be designated, but five have been named to allow for flexibility of listing. At least one of the designated group will be on the bench for all appeals arising from the reforms.
In addition to Lord Dyson and Lord Justice Jackson, the designated judges are Lord Justice Stephen Richards (Deputy Head of Civil Justice) and Lord Justices Davis and Lewison.
