The aim of this podcast series is to provide a user friendly explanation of the compulsory purchase regime in England, to give a listener a good understanding of the basics of compulsory purchase law.
In the first episode, Charlotte Dyer, an Of Counsel in the London Planning Team, explains what compulsory purchase is before discussing the different types of compulsory purchase powers. This episode can be found on SoundCloud, iTunes and Spotify.
In future episodes we will cover other aspects of the compulsory purchase regime including justifying a CPO, preparing and making a CPO, consideration of a CPO, implementing a CPO and last but not least compensation.
