Abhijit is an India qualified and U.S. educated corporate lawyer and focusses on advising clients across different sectors on M&A and private equity transactions, in Germany and beyond.
Abhijit has broad experience in advising Indian corporates on outbound investments in Europe and especially in Germany. This encompasses, inter alia, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture/tech transactions, and joint ventures, including post-merger/post-acquisition integration. It also covers the establishment of subsidiaries for Indian companies.
Further to his India focus, Abhijit also has significant experience in advising clients from the Middle East.
Prior to joining Herbert Smith Freehills, Abhijit worked with different leading law firms in India (J. Sagar Associates), Germany (Hengeler Mueller, Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe) and the UK (Slaughter May).
Abhijit is fluent in English, Hindi and German.
Background
Abhijit earned his LL.B. degree from the University of Delhi in 2007 and subsequently completed his LL.M. at New York University in 2008.
