Annekathrin Hoffmann is a Senior Associate and part of our Real Estate practice group.
She advises both national and international clients on real estate transactions (logistics warehouses, office buildings, mixed use buildings, residential buildings and data centers). Annekathrin specializes in large-volume and complex real estate project developments. Her expertise includes advising on and providing legal support for planning and obtaining building rights, realizing the project and supporting the entire life cycle of the property through to revitalization and resale as part of extensive real estate transactions. This includes developments on so-called greenfields and brownfields as well as inner city developments, revitalizations, various infrastructure developments and urban developments, e.g. in the area of smart and green cities. She participates in various initiatives and regularly gives lectures.
Annekathrin has been listed in ‘Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Germany’ by Best Lawyers/Handelsblatt since 2021 for Real Estate, Construction Law and Environmental Law; as well as in Kanzleimonitor since 2019 as one of the top 10 commercial lawyers in Germany with regular top 1 mentions in Real Estate, Public Law, Construction Law and Environmental Law.
Background
Annekathrin Hoffmann graduated from the law school of the Humboldt University of Berlin with an exchange year at the Universidad de Granada (Spain). She was admitted to the bar in 2016. Prior to joining Herbert Smith Freehills in 2024, Annekathrin worked for several leading international law firms in Germany. A German native speaker, she is fluent in English and speaks Spanish.
