Anvesh is a solicitor in our dispute resolution team in Sydney. 

Anvesh is a disputes lawyer who has experience acting on a wide range of commercial disputes, with a particular focus on building and construction, energy and resources (including wind and natural gas projects) and class actions.

He has experience working on large-scale litigation as well as arbitration, mediation, adjudication and providing advice in relation to contractual and project delivery issues. Anvesh routinely advises on issues arising out of defects, variations, extensions of time and performance of contractual obligations under various procurement arrangements.

Background

Anvesh holds a Juris Doctor from the Australian National University and a Bachelor of Science (Mechanical Systems) from the University of Melbourne. He is admitted to practise in the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory, the High Court of Australia and the High Court of New Zealand.

  • Acting for a project company in a SIAC arbitration governed by English law, arising out of the construction of a refinery and petrochemical complex in Southeast Asia. 
  • Assisting a renewables project developer in relation to adjudications under the Security of Payment legislation. 
  • Assisting a company with the defence of a shareholder class action brought in the context of AUSTRAC announcing an investigation into a subsidiary. 
  • Assisting a project owner in pursuing a developer for rectification costs associated with defects in a data centre. 
  • Assisting a project developer in defending an urgent injunction brought by a purchaser seeking to prevent dealings with an asset.
