Calida Tang
Calida is a Solicitor in the Sydney disputes team.
She has experience on a variety of contentious matters including court proceedings and arbitrations, regulatory investigations, and general commercial advice for clients across a variety of sectors.
She is also experienced in working with experts, particularly on technical and complex issues in the technology and financial services space.
Calida is a member of key sector-focused groups within the firm relating to AI and technology disputes.
She is actively involved in the firm’s pro bono practice, having worked with various clients of the Shopfront Youth Legal Centre. She is also a Co-chair of the firm’s Sydney Reconciliation Champions and an IRIS Network Committee member.
Background
Calida has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science (with First Class Honours in Physics) from the University of Sydney. She has a keen interest in the technology sector, especially deep tech.
Prior to joining Herbert Smith Freehills, she was a Tipstaff at the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
Calida is a co-author of the chapter on corporate personality in ‘Bootmakers, Boards and Rogues’ and an article in the UNSW Law Journal on the topic of ‘Corporate Alter Ego Liability in Equity’.
