Kate is Of Counsel in our dispute resolution team and ranked as a Rising Star in Legal 500 2022.

Kate  advises on all forms of dispute resolution,  including High Court litigation, arbitration and mediation, with a focus on cases involving complex legal and strategic issues.  Her cases are frequently high profile and media sensitive and often have an international element. 

Kate’s work includes class actions, complex contractual disputes,  investigations and inquiries, insolvency-related disputes and professional negligence claims. She advises UK and international clients, often at Board level, across a wide range of sectors including in financial services, and the public sector.  She is ranked in as a Rising Star in Legal 500 2022, where she is described as "brilliant" and in Legal 500 2021, recognised as “technically outstanding” and “capable of strategically managing complex high profile litigation

  • Post Office on the successful settlement of its highly publicised class action relating to defects in its computer system, following a series of unfavourable judgments handed down before HSFs involvement, including follow-on compensation claims by criminally convicted postmasters, schemes for other affected individuals and a series of select committee and other government inquiries
  • BAT Industries in proceedings arising from the US$1bn clean-up of the Fox River in the U.S., including proceedings brought by BAT in the English High Court for the recovery of approx. US$800m in dividends
  • a financial service provider in high-value multi-party arbitration proceedings run by way of test case in connection with long-tail mesothelioma liabilities
  • BP in a professional negligence claim against its brokers arising out of the operation of an open cover insurance facility
