Dmitriy is an associate in Herbert Smith Freehills’s dispute resolution practice.

Dmitriy focuses his practice on commercial litigation and corporate crime and investigation matters.  He advises domestic and international clients across various sectors, including financial services, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology.

Dmitriy has represented companies in U.S. state and federal courts in complex disputes, including breach of contract actions, insurance coverage matters, civil RICO actions, and bankruptcy adversary proceedings.  He also provides risk management advice and support regarding internal corporate investigations.

Prior to joining HSF, Dmitriy worked at an Am Law 200 law firm representing domestic and international insurance carriers in various phases of commercial litigation in U.S. state and federal courts involving professional liability including directors and officers, errors and omissions, and representations and warranties.

Background

Dmitriy received his J.D. from Fordham University School of law where he served as an associate editor on the Fordham Journal of Corporate and Financial Law and was the Intra-school Competition Editor of the Brendan Moore Trial Advocacy Center.  He received his B.A. from Hunter College.

Selected matters

  • represented fourteen international insurers in a Bermuda Supreme Court insurance coverage action arising out of a directors and officers liability policy in connection with an alleged underlying securities action*
  • successfully won an oral argument from the bench in Delaware Superior Court denying an adversary’s motion to stay briefing on client’s motion for judgment on the pleadings*
