Edwin is an experienced lawyer in our Projects, Energy and Infrastructure team.

Ed has acted for both private and public sector clients on major energy, resources, construction and infrastructure projects in Australia and Africa. 

Ed’s energy experience includes electricity supply agreements, network access agreements and bespoke advice in relation to the electricity legislation in Western Australia. Ed’s infrastructure experience includes preparing specialised project documentation (development deeds, construction contracts, operation and maintenance contracts and power purchase agreements) and associated regulatory advice.

Background

Ed holds a Bachelor of Laws from Murdoch University, a Bachelor of Biomedical Science and a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Notre Dame.

Selected matters

  • KEFI Minerals on the Tulu Kapi Gold Mine Project in Ethiopia, particularly with assistance on complex contract structuring, preparation of EPCM-style Agreements and preparation of a Mining Services Contract, lender due diligence and bankability review.
  • Ecograf on its Epanko graphite project in Tanzania, including the preparation of its FEED and EPCM Contracts.
  • BCI Minerals on the development of its Mardie Salt & Potash Project, located on the Pilbara Coast of Western Australia, including preparation of core project documents for the mine’s power solution (Development Agreements and Power Purchase Agreement).
  • Multiple Lenders, including NAIF and EFA, on the project financing of Arafura’s Nolans Rare Earths Project.
  • ING Bank NV, one of the four international financial institutions acting as Mandated Lead Arrangers, in the €320.6 million senior secured project financing for the construction and development of Highfield Resources Ltd's 100%-owned Muga Potash Project in Spain, including the preparation of Australian securities on behalf of the Mandated Lead Arrangers.
