Lizzie specialises in large-scale infrastructure projects and contentious planning matters.  

Lizzie has advised clients across a range of projects, predominantly in the aviation, transport and energy sectors promoting the development and expansion of new infrastructure.

Lizzie has experience advising at all stages of a project's development, from pre-application through to implementation. She has particular experience advising on planning appeals and during the examination of development consent applications. 

She has experience drafting and negotiating planning and highways agreements, advising on planning applications and successfully defending judicial review challenges.

Her town planning experience involves leading on a number of planning appeals as well as advising in relation to heritage specific matters for commercial property and residential developments. 

Lizzie also works alongside the Real Estate department, providing support in relation to planning elements of transactions. 

Background

Lizzie graduated with a Law Degree from Durham University and is admitted to practise in England and Wales.

  • Gatwick Airport in relation to its development consent order application to turn the existing emergency runway into an operational runway alongside related reconfiguration of the airport infrastructure and major highway works
  • Bristol Airport in relation to a number of matters for strategic expansion of the airport (whilst at previous firm)
  • National Grid Electricity Transmission on the development consent order application and examination of the Yorkshire GREEN project (whilst at previous firm)
  • Vattenfall on the post-consent aspects of the development consent orders relating to the delivery of the Norfolk Boreas and Norfolk Vanguard Offshore Windfarm projects (whilst at previous firm)
