Friedrich is a Senior Associate in our Corporate team, focusing on technology and telecommunications transactions.

Friedrich specialises in cross-border and domestic mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances, private and venture capital, critical commercial transactions and corporate governance.

 

Friedrich also regularly advises clients on key operational matters including digital infrastructure (data centres, capacity arrangements and subsea and terrestrial cable systems) and emerging technology initiatives.  

Background

Friedrich holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the Queensland University of Technology.

Friedrich is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia.

  • PsiQuantum on its partnership with the Commonwealth and Queensland Governments to build the world’s first utility-scale quantum computer in Australia, through a A$940M financial package, comprised of equity, grants and loans
  • H.R.L Morrison & Co owned investment firm Infratil on its acquisition of a majority stake in network provider and interconnection firm Console Connect for $160 million
  • AustralianSuper in relation to its acquisition of a $2.5b minority stake in Vantage Data Centers EMEA
  • QIC on its Queensland Business Investment Fund and Enterprise Acceleration Fund investments into Gilmour Space Technology, Endua, Cartelux and others
  • Marubeni in connection with minority equity investments in various growth stage renewables and technology businesses, including Skeleton Technologies Group OU and Circle Gas Limited
  • GS Engineering in respect of a 12.5% equity investment in the $15.8b Spark NEL infrastructure project as a consortium participant.
