Gopika helps clients with complex commercial disputes, with a particular focus on contractual and insolvency disputes and class actions.

Gopika also has experience acting for commissions of inquiry, including as a secondee to the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System.

She has also practiced as an advocate in India, with experience in domestic and international arbitration and in matters before the Supreme Court of India and the High Court of Delhi.

Background

Gopika holds a Bachelor of Arts and Law (Honours) from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, where she graduated top of her class with eleven university prizes. Gopika also holds a Bachelor of Civil Law from the University of Oxford, which she attended on a full scholarship.

Gopika is admitted as a solicitor in Victoria, Australia and as an advocate in India.

In addition to Melbourne, Gopika has previously worked in the London and Brisbane offices of the firm.
