Hannes is a Counsel in our Real Estate practice in Frankfurt.
Hannes advises both domestic and international clients on all aspects of real estate related transactions and services, in particular on real estate acquisitions and disposals (share and asset deals), real estate developments, joint venture investments, sale and leaseback transactions. He also advises on all aspects of asset management with a focus on lease agreements and management agreements.
His transactional experience covers a wide range of asset classes, including office, residential, retail, hotel, logistics and healthcare properties as well as data centers.
Hannes also has substantial experience in real estate finance transactions.
Background
Hannes studied law at the University of Tübingen and the University of Oslo and was admitted to the bar in 2013.
Prior to joining Herbert Smith Freehills in 2024, he worked for several leading international law firms, most recently an American law firm.
A native German speaker, he is fluent in English and Dutch.
Since 2022, Hannes is listed in "Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Germany” for Real Estate by Best Lawyers/Handelsblatt.
