Hugh advises our clients in a broad range of property disputes. Hugh has vast litigation experience, guiding clients through various commercial real estate disputes.
Hugh has an in-depth understanding of property law and advises clients on contentious landlord and tenant work such as business lease renewals, forfeiture, breach of covenant actions, trespass, break clauses, tenant arrears/insolvency, service charge and dilapidations.
Hugh also has experience in dealing with development matters such as rights of light analysis, vacant possession strategies, the operation of break clauses and contractual negotiations.
In addition, Hugh regularly assists in real estate transactions, offering advice when transactions could become contentious or where a unique point of law arises.

Background
Hugh is a dual-qualified solicitor, having qualified in Ireland in 2021. His experience focused on commercial property, banking and dispute resolution before joining us in 2023. Hugh is a member of the Property Litigation Association and the London Irish Lawyers Association. Hugh sits on the firms ESG panel and is a member of the Social, Health and Wellness committee in the department.
