Jason is a senior lawyer specialised in debt capital markets offerings, structured finance and global financings.

Jason is a senior lawyer with over a decade of experience advising financial institutions and corporates on a range of debt capital markets offerings and complex cross-border financings.

Jason has acted for issuers and arrangers, dealers and managers across numerous EMTN, AMTN, debt issuance and covered bond programmes and issuances across Australia, the Asia Pacific and Europe. His practice also encompasses acting for trustees in the capital markets space on MTN programmes, stand-alone issuances and liability management exercises.

Jason also has experience in Australian fund formation (MIT and VCLP structures), international secondaries transactions and private capital.

Jason’s broad experience and skillset gives him the ability to advise clients on global cross-broader and domestic Australian transactions with varying and complex structures to best enable treasury teams to achieve their funding goals and support financiers in providing critical funding to a wide variety of corporates from telecommunications providers, diversified portfolio corporates, leading consumer groups, ports and other critical infrastructure providers, among others.

Background

Jason holds a Master of Laws from Kyushu University, Japan, a Bachelor of Civil Law (Distinction) from the University of Oxford and a combined Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Laws (Honours I) from the University of Sydney.

Jason is admitted in Australia and previously worked in Hong Kong for a number of years prior to joining Herbert Smith Freehills.
