Jeremy specialises in project finance, with a particular focus on renewable energy and infrastructure projects. 

Jeremy works with sponsors, borrowers and bank syndicates to negotiate and document complex energy and infrastructure projects and acquisitions. He has experience on a range of corporate and project finance transactions involving limited recourse project financing, acquisition financing and borrowing base lending.  He also has experience negotiating offtake arrangements, acting for vendors, offtakers and sponsors.

Jeremy has deep practical knowledge of project development and all stages of a project’s life cycle, having previously worked as a process engineer in Singapore in the offshore FLNG and oil and gas sectors. He brings this experience to his role and ensures that his advice considers his client’s commercial drivers, the commercial realities of each project, as well as the legal aspects. 

Background

Jeremy holds a Juris Doctor from Monash University and a  Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) from the University of Melbourne. He is admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria and the High Court of Australia.

Prior to joining Herbert Smith Freehills, Jeremy worked as process engineer in the offshore FLNG and oil and gas sectors, across a range of commercial, technical and site-based roles.

  • ACEN Australia in relation to its A$600m syndicated green term loan facility.
  • Acciona in relation to power purchase agreements across a number of its renewable assets, including the MacIntyre Windfarm, Aldoga Solar Farm, Mt Gellibrand Wind Farm and Karara Wind Farm.
  • Collgar Renewables on its A$242.7 million debt refinancing of the Collgar Wind Farm.
  • Retiring Lenders in relation to the A$282m debt refinancing of the Stockyard Hill Wind Farm.
