Jin-Bum Yoon is a senior associate in the Corporate Crime and Investigations practice group at our Frankfurt office.

Jin-Bum specializes in the examination of complex cases of white-collar-crime. A key focus is on investigations in Asia, where Jin-Bum spent several years working with our market leading CC&I practice in the Asia-Pacific region. Jin-Bum also advices on corporate defense in criminal/administrative proceedings.

Jin-Bum is experienced in conducting internal investigations in multiple jurisdictions with a particular focus on investigations relating to allegations of corruption. This includes extensive document review, conducting interviews with employees and third parties and recommending disciplinary and remedial action.

Jin-Bum also represents national and international clients in criminal and regulatory proceedings in white-collar crime cases, including bribery, fraud, and embezzlement.

Jin-Bum further covers the asset recovery for the damaged company, which includes the seizing of assets, the judicial and extrajudicial enforcement of claims for damages, conducting internal investigations and supporting the criminal investigations.

Jin-Bum provides advice on compliance and money laundering matters.

Background

Before joining Herbert Smith Freehills in 2016, Jin-Bum worked for a German market leading law firm which focuses on compliance and investigations. During his legal clerkship he worked for international law firms in Germany and Korea.  Jin-Bum was seconded to our Hong Kong office from 2022 to 2024.
