Margaret Mertens
Margaret is an experienced lawyer in our Projects, Energy and Infrastructure team, specialising in major projects and construction law.
She has over 25 years of experience in construction and major infrastructure projects and developments in the private and public sectors, both greenfield and brownfield, including commercial, retail and residential property development, health, education, resources, energy, oil and gas, public infrastructure and financing.
Margaret is frequently named in Best Lawyers for Construction/Infrastructure Law. Margaret is a member of the National Association of Women in Construction.
Background
Margaret joined Herbert Smith Freehills as special counsel in 2009. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland and is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland.
Margaret is a member of the National Association of Women in Construction.
