Nika is an associate in the Competition, Regulation and Trade group in Brussels.

Nika advises clients on all aspect of EU competition law, including cartel investigations, abuse of dominance, antitrust compliance and state aid issues. She has advised clients in antitrust proceedings before the European Commission in the automotive and food and drink sectors, and has advised a number of multinational clients on their internal antitrust compliance.

Nika also advises on EU regulatory matters, with significant experience in digital and emerging technologies, consumer goods, and energy.

Finally, Nika advises a range of multinational clients on EU financial and trade sanctions, in particular in relation to the compliance of their commercial contracts with EU sanctions rules.

Background

Nika holds a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) in Competition law from King's College London and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Greenwich (UK). Prior to joining Herbert Smith Freehills, Nika worked as a trainee at the Directorate General for Competition (DG COMP) at the European Commission and as a paralegal in a competition law boutique firm in London.

Nika is admitted as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales, and speaks fluent English, Spanish and Croatian. She is also a member of the Brussels Bar B-list.
