Olivia is a senior associate in Herbert Smith Freehills' Dispute Resolution division based in London.

Olivia specialises in commercial litigation and has a broad practice, with experience in a range of sectors and disciplines. She advises on general commercial disputes, class actions, oil and gas disputes, restructure, insolvency and turnaround matters, procurement disputes and regulatory matters. Olivia has acted on proceedings in the High Court and Competition Appeal Tribunal, as well as in the Supreme Court of Western Australia, the Supreme Court of Victoria, the Federal and High Courts of Australia, and in both London and Singapore seated international arbitration. 

Background

Olivia holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree from the University of Western Australia. Prior to commencing at Herbert Smith Freehills, Olivia was an Associate in the Supreme Court of Western Australia. She is admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia.

The GLO is being case managed alongside similar group claims being brought against over a dozen other global car manufacturers before the High Court
  • a pharmaceutical company on an LCIA arbitration arising out of a business sale
  • HS2 in relation to a procurement litigation challenge brought by a train manufacturer
  • a truck manufacturer in a large-scale follow-on damages claims commenced in the High Court, the Competition Appeal Tribunal and across Europe
  • a leading global energy company in large scale proceedings in the Supreme Court of Western Australia relating to the alleged repudiation of a contract
  • a junior mining company in relation to a High Court of Australia special leave application arising under the Railways (Access) Code 2000 (WA)
