Robert Withycombe-Taperell
Robert is a finance lawyer, advising on broad range of corporate, property and acquisition financing arrangements.
Robert advises financial institutions, corporate borrowers and investment funds on all aspects of financing transactions. Robert has had experience advising on a wide range of domestic and cross-border financing matters in Australian, European and US markets, including energy and resources matters, construction and property financing, leveraged and acquisition financing and general corporate financing.
Background
Robert holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours Class 1) / Bachelor of International Studies (Globalisation) degrees from the University of New South Wales. Robert is admitted to practise as a solicitor in New South Wales and the High Court of Australia.
Robert spent more than seven years working in London before returning to Herbert Smith Freehills in Sydney in 2021, including six years at Slaughter and May and a secondment in the leverage finance, high yield and restructuring debt team of UBS AG in London.
