Sam Jones
Sam is a solicitor in the Corporate M&A team at Herbert Smith Freehills, based in the firm’s Perth office.
Sam has experience assisting clients with both private and public M&A transactions, corporate governance and equity capital markets matters. He has worked with clients in various industries including mining, energy and resources, industrials and utilities.
Sam’s experience also spans our Finance and Employment, Industrial Relations & Safety teams, showcasing his natural curiosity and versatility as a lawyer. He has worked on cross-jurisdictional project and corporate finance deals, and advised clients on various employment-related matters, including payroll compliance, employment aspects of corporate transactions, and industrial relations strategy.
Background
Sam is a graduate of the University of Western Australia and holds a Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Commerce.
Sam is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Western Australia, the High Court of Australia and the Federal Court of Australia.
Outside of the office, Sam referees rugby union at a high level and has been appointed to fixtures across Australia and overseas. Sam complements his practice by regularly sitting as a Judiciary Panel member for RugbyWA. He is also highly involved with HSF’s pro bono initiatives, including providing critical legal advice for people seeking asylum through the firm’s partnership with the Refugee Advice and Casework Service (RACS).
Sam is a member of the Law Society of Western Australia and plays an active role in the Building Connections Committee and Community Committee in the Perth office.
