Sarah advises clients on the acquisition and development of power and infrastructure assets.

Sarah is a corporate energy partner with a focus on advising private and public sector clients on large and complex projects, including acquisitions, joint ventures and project development.

In particular, Sarah advises clients on their investment in and development of power sector assets including conventional, renewable and nuclear generation, and nuclear decommissioning and the corresponding regulatory frameworks. She regularly acts for utilities, IPPs, financial investors, lenders, governments and regulators.

She also advises clients on project development, and complex commercial contracts, in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Sarah is ranked Band 1 for Power in Chambers UK 2024 which highlights that “Sarah's solution-based analysis, acute commercial awareness and responsiveness allow her clients to close deals successfully and quickly.” She is also ranked as a Leading Individual for Power and for Infrastructure (M&A) in Legal 500 UK 2024.

Background

Sarah was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 2005 and holds an LLB (Hons), Bristol University (2001).

  • Interpath Advisory, joint administrators of Toucan Energy Holdings 1 Limited, on the sale of Toucan Energy’s solar portfolio to Schroders Greencoat, for approximately £700 million
  • bp on the restructuring of its ownership of its joint offshore wind projects with Equinor, whereby bp purchased Equinor's 50% stake in the Beacon Wind projects and the Astoria Gateway for Renewable Energy site; and Equinor purchased bp's 50% stake in the Empire Wind projects
  • bp in relation to their joint venture with DWO for the development four offshore wind projects in Korea, including the initial acquisition, joint venture arrangements and ongoing service arrangements
  • Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners K/S on the investment in, development of, refinancing of and subsequent sale of over £1 billion of biomass transactions in the UK, at Brigg, Snetterton, Templeborough and Kent biomass plants
  • InterGen on the sale of its UK generation business to CREDITAS Group, including the Coryton, Spalding and Rocksavage CCGT and OCGT stations in UK
  • DIF Capital Partners on a £200 million investment into Field, a London-headquartered dedicated developer and operator of battery energy storage systems
  • Interogo Holding, via its infrastructure fund Inter Infrastructure Capital, on an agreement to acquire 49% of a 1,066-megawatt portfolio of operational and under-construction solar photovoltaic generation assets within the BRUC group
