Zaheer Moosa

Zaheer is a corporate lawyer and has extensive experience in corporate & commercial law, including M&A, commercial contracts, capital markets, investment funds, corporate restructurings, transaction advisory, commercial arrangements and regulatory matters. Using these skills, Zaheer is able to assist the global Digital Corporate team to offer a wide variety of product offerings to both internal clients and directly to external clients, globally. Such offerings are constantly evolving as the Digital Corporate business grows. Zaheer also has a keen focus on efficiencies and innovation in legal practice. Senior Lawyers play a proactive role supporting the senior team with strategic management and delivery of fee-earning client mandates, as well as the development of the junior team.

Background

Zaheer began his legal career at leading international law firm Hogan Lovells where his legal foundations were strongly built. Having developed a strong passion for corporate commercial law, Zaheer ultimately decided to focus on and practice as a corporate commercial lawyer, post admission as an attorney. Zaheer practiced as a corporate associate at global law firm Clyde & Co before joining Herbert Smith Freehills in 2022.

Zaheer completed his tertiary education at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg where he completed an undergraduate BA law degree as well as a post graduated LLB degree (Cum Laude). During his tenure at the University of the Witwatersrand, Zaheer was awarded with Dean's List awards in 2017 and 2018 and was also awarded with Certificates of First Class in both 2015 and 2016.

Zaheer completed his secondary education at a Cambridge University international examination centre where he completed his Cambridge IGCSE and AS Level qualifications.
