The Comparative Guide to Environmental, Social and Governance Law

Six authors from HSF have contributed to the launch guide to all things ESG. Includes analysis on Australia's ESG agenda and the role of corporate purpose.

Corporate purpose and environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues are dominating media headlines and featuring prominently on board agendas around the globe, as companies seek to understand and manage the ESG impacts of their businesses and value chains.

In this context, we are pleased to have contributed to the inaugural publication of the ‘International Comparative Legal Guide for Environmental, Social & Governance Law’ covering key ESG law issues and trends for 2021. The guide is an early resource in providing a cross-jurisdictional view of the developing body of law regarding ESG.

Our contribution to the guide was provided through the firm’s ESG, Sustainability and Responsible Business practice, which draws together our global team of cross-practice experts to combine in-depth knowledge of key ESG subject-matter and regulation, with wide-ranging sectoral expertise. Key areas of our practice include business and human rights, climate change-related regulation and litigation, green and sustainable finance, impact investment, reporting and disclosures, corporate governance, the development of ESG-related legislation, due diligence and the M&A process and ESG issues relating to funds and asset management.
