2023 has been another big year for construction and infrastructure. The sectors have attracted significant attention and made headlines – from the huge investment and expertise needed to advance the vast pipeline of projects (particularly those required to support the energy transition), to the cost blowouts on some projects, and the cancellation of federal funding for others. The market has also had significant headwinds to navigate, created by issues including ongoing supply chain disruption and the rising cost of capital.

There has been a flurry of legal developments too – new legislation to get across, and cases on construction risk and liability issues to consider.

All of this has added to a long list of issues to navigate on projects in delivery and, inevitably, some disputes to resolve.

As we approach the end of 2023, we have narrowed a long list to bring you 10 developments worth knowing about as you look ahead to 2024.
