Herbert Smith Freehills has further bolstered its employment team in Germany with the hire of Dr Anja Lingscheid as a consultant in Frankfurt as part of the team led by employment partner Moritz Kunz. Before joining Herbert Smith Freehills, the certified specialist for employment law (Fachanwältin für Arbeitsrecht) had been working in the Frankfurt office of Norton Rose Fulbright as Of Counsel since 2014. Before that, she gained over ten years' experience as employment lawyer at Hogan Lovells, Allen & Overy, as well as in-house, as Senior Legal Advisor, at Bilfinger Industrial Technologies.
Anja is a renowned expert for employment law, advising German and international businesses on all employment-law matters, notably in connection with acquisitions, changes in corporate form (most recently, SE (Societas Europaea) transformations such as that of a leading international automotive supplier) and reconstructions, but also relating to codetermination at company level, internal investigations and with regards to the provisions of the Allgemeines Gleichbehandlungsgesetz (German General Equal Treatment Act, AGG). She also represents companies at labour court proceedings as well as in negotiations with works councils.
Anja is the most recent lateral hire at Herbert Smith Freehills. Since opening in Germany in 2013, the firm has grown to 16 partners and a total of over 60 lawyers in three offices (Berlin, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt).
“We are delighted that Anja has joined our employment law practice in Germany,” comments Moritz Kunz, employment partner at Herbert Smith Freehills Germany. “She will greatly enhance our team with her many years of extensive practical experience,” he adds.
