Leading international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Waverton Investment Management Group on its proposed merger with the London & Capital Group (which is subject to regulatory approval).
The strategic move will create a leading independent wealth management business with an AUM of over £17 billion.
As part of the transaction, Lovell Minnick Partners, a US-based private equity firm investing in growth-oriented companies in financial services, and London & Capital’s existing majority shareholder, will take a majority shareholding in the combined business.
The Herbert Smith Freehills team was led by Corporate partners Barney Hinnigan, Shaun Lee and James Palmer, senior associates Adam Goddard and Charles Steward and associates Sena Calin, Yasmin Jackson and Leshandra Mandlate.
Spencer House Partners acted as financial adviser to Waverton Investment Management Group.
