Global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has appointed Jinny Chaimungkalanont as Managing Partner of its Finance practice in Asia & Australia, effective from 1 May 2024.
Based in Sydney, Jinny will succeed Andrew Booth, who has led the practice since 2017, including through the pandemic.
Jinny has been a partner at Herbert Smith Freehills since 2012. She has over 20 years’ experience advising on stamp duty and other State taxes Australia-wide. Her clients include those in real estate and development, funds management, finance, infrastructure, energy, renewables, mining and healthcare. Jinny will continue to lead Herbert Smith Freehills’ market leading States taxes practice.
On her appointment, Jinny Chaimungkalanont said, “I am thrilled to be leading our outstanding Finance team across Asia and Australia, and to build on the success of Andrew’s legacy.
