Leading international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has strengthened its Thai disputes practice with the appointment of Pariyapol Kamolsilp as a partner in Bangkok.
Pariyapol joins Thailand's leading disputes practice, led by managing partner Warathorn Wongsawangsiri. The thriving practice handles many of the country's largest litigation, class actions and arbitration matters for Thai, regional and international clients.
"Thailand's economy is growing and Bangkok is also a business hub for Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam investment, so client demand for our services is rising," said Warathorn.
"Pariyapol's skills will help us meet that demand, particularly in construction, energy, consumer goods and TMT disputes."

The new partner also adds business restructuring, rehabilitation and bankruptcy expertise to the practice – a valuable resource for clients of the firm's corporate practice in Bangkok, launched with the hire of corporate and competition partner Nonnabhat (Niab) Paiboon in 2022.
"Bangkok is essential to the growth of our Southeast Asia business, as it attracts investors across sectors and is a hub for onward investment," said Asia managing partner Graeme Preston.
"Pariyapol's breadth of experience makes him a valuable addition to our team, and an invaluable adviser for transactional and disputes clients alike."
Graeme Preston, Managing Partner, Asia
Pariyapol has over 16 years of experience in domestic and international arbitration, with expertise in construction disputes and insolvency and bankruptcy matters. He began his legal career in 2007, focussing on commercial disputes, including securities matters and M&A.
A member of the Lawyers Council of Thailand, Pariyapol is a registered arbitrator with both the Thai Arbitration Institute (TAI) and Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC). A graduate of Thammasat University and The Ohio State University, he is fluent in Thai and English.
He joins the firm on 2 May 2024.
