Andrew undertakes a wide range of environment and planning work, focusing on helping government and private sector clients navigate environment and planning regulation in Australia.

He advises on environment and planning law issues including approval pathways, land access and acquisition, contamination, heritage, biodiversity and conservation, litigation, responding to environmental incidents and regulatory investigations.

Selected matters

  • providing advice to companies and executive leadership on responsibilities under environmental protection licences (or equivalent) and environmental law, advice on environmental incidents and responding to regulator investigations, and strategic advice in respect of ongoing and future operations
  • advising a multinational utility company regarding its planning approvals strategy for a 420MW wind farm in northern New South Wales
  • providing strategic advice in relation to the compulsory acquisition of The Star Site at Union St, Pyrmont for the purpose of the Sydney Metro West Project and acting in related Class 3 proceedings in the Land and Environment Court
  • advising on the Circular Quay Renewal project to deliver an upgrade and renewal of the Circular Quay ferry wharves and surrounding precinct
