Codie Asimus
Codie is an experienced lawyer in our Projects, Energy and Infrastructure (Corporate) team.
Codie has experience on a wide range of transactions, including acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures and project contracts. Codie primarily works with clients in the energy, resources and infrastructure sectors, including private capital clients, energy companies and developers. His M&A and joint venture experience covers projects at all stages of the development cycle, and includes portfolio, asset and share/unit sales, as well as consortium and platform arrangements.
Codie has worked in London, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia, and completed a secondment with BlackRock, covering renewables investments across APAC. He has acted on a range of transactions located in the UK, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and the Middle East.
Background
Codie holds a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Public Communication) from the University of Technology, Sydney.

- Private capital clients, including CIP, IFM, Macquarie, OTPP, and QIC on various energy and infrastructure investments, CDPQ on its joint venture and platform arrangements in connection with its consortium bid with Origin Energy for the CWP Renewables business, KKR on its £2bn acquisition of John Laing Group and BlackRock on the sale of the Daydream and Hayman solar farms and various renewable investments across APAC.
- Bidders, including for the NSW Government’s remaining 49% interest in WestConnex Group, Singtel’s Australian Optus mobile tower infrastructure network, Vector’s advanced metering business, AGL in relation to its successful consortium application for a feasibility licence to develop an offshore wind farm in respect of the declared area off Gippsland, Victoria, and a confidential consortium in relation to its application for a feasibility licence to develop an offshore wind farm in respect of the declared area off Hunter, NSW.
- Investors and developers in relation to wind, solar, BESS, pumped hydro, hydrogen and green utilities assets, including Total, Origin Energy, Octopus Energy, Metka, EDF Renewables, EDP Renewables, Spark Renewables, Macquarie, Mitsui and Tilt Renewables.
- Sellers of renewables asset portfolios, including acting for BlackRock and New Energy Solar.
- Joint venture participants, including in relation to consortium bids for offshore wind feasibility licences, renewables platform arrangements and Mitsui in relation to its Australian energy solutions JV with ENGIE.
