Daniel has substantial experience of high-value commercial disputes in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Competition Appeal Tribunal. These include some of the most complex and high-profile banking disputes, securities class actions and competition damages claims in recent years. Daniel is listed as a Key Lawyer in the firm's Tier 1 Banking Litigation practice in The Legal 500 UK.
He is a solicitor-advocate and spent a number of years in the firm’s in house advocacy group, acting as junior counsel (with Tom Leech QC) in two High Court trials and as sole advocate in a number of other hearings.

- BNP Paribas in relation to high profile High Court proceedings issued by Vestia, the Dutch social housing authority, in connection with certain historic derivatives transactions. Vestia seeks restitution and/or damages in excess of €300 million
- Iveco in its defence of follow-on damages claims arising from the European Commission's settlement decision in Trucks, one of the most high profile competition follow-on damages cases in Europe
- JPMorgan in a claim brought by The Libyan Investment Authority in connection with a $200 million derivative transaction
- RBS in defending actions brought by shareholder and investor groups claiming approximately £4 billion in connection with the group’s 2008 rights issue, the first major securities class action to be brought in this jurisdiction
- Credit Suisse in its successful High Court proceedings against Vestia for the recovery of €83 million payable under various interest rate derivatives
