Dr Marius Boewe is a Partner in our Düsseldorf office and leads our German Regulatory practice.
He provides more than 20 years' experience of public and public commercial law, especially in the fields of energy, FDI, environmental and aviation law.
Furthermore, his expertise encompasses diverse legal regulatory aspects as well as state aid, planning and building law. Marius advises international investors, major energy companies, large industrials, and international airlines in all regulatory aspects of their projects.
Marius is a lecturer at the University of Düsseldorf and publisher and author of various legal books and articles, inter alia publishing the leading commentary on the German Renewable Energy Act.

Background
Marius graduated from the law school of the University of Freiburg. He holds a Doctor of Laws (Dr iur) from the University of Freiburg on a constitutional and parliamentary related topic. Prior to joining Herbert Smith Freehills in 2016, he worked for other leading international law firms in Cologne and Düsseldorf. A German native speaker, he is fluent in English.
