Jane Ballard
Jane is a partner in our Projects, Energy and Infrastructure team, specialising in the energy, natural resources and infrastructure sectors.
Jane advises clients on transactions and projects in the energy, natural resources and infrastructure sectors, including upstream oil and gas exploration and production, midstream processing, renewables, new energy and decarbonisation (including decommissioning and CCS) and mining. Within those sectors, she principally advises on acquisitions and divestments, project structuring and joint ventures, project development, offtakes, processing and transportation.
Jane has worked on large-scale projects and transactions within Australia and internationally.
Background
Jane holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Politics from the University of Western Australia.

Selected matters
- CalEnergy (a subsidiary of Northern Powergrid Holdings Company) on the acquisition of two solar farms in New South Wales with a combined capacity of 345 MWp from Canadian Solar, and the entry into a Development Services Agreement in respect of the future development of renewables projects in Australia
- BHP in relation to the development of the Scarborough gas project in WA, including the tie back of the Scarborough facility to the Pluto LNG park operated by Woodside and joint venture, unit realignment, processing service, construction and tie in and multi-party lifting agreements
- Woodside on the development of the Browse LNG project, including its processing arrangements for Browse gas through the North West Shelf LNG facility
- Santos on its US$2.15 billion acquisition of Quadrant Energy
- CNOOC on its acquisition of an interest in the QCLNG project and the ongoing development of the QCLNG Project (including exploration and production of gas, gas sales agreements, domestic gas strategies and processing, water treatment, gas transportation, LNG and the integrated development of the Arrow Project through the QCLNG and APLNG infrastructure)
