Jared Peut
Jared advises clients on strategic competition law and economic regulation issues, particularly in the infrastructure, energy and mining sectors.
Jared’s practice spans all aspects of competition/antitrust law, with particular expertise advising on merger clearances, joint venture arrangements and ACCC investigations. Jared has advised clients on the competition law elements of a number of Australia’s largest and most complex transactions; regularly advises leading energy and resources clients on major projects; and assists clients with responding to ACCC and AER investigations and proceedings (including civil and criminal cartel matters).
Jared also has extensive experience advising on infrastructure, electricity, and gas regulation issues, including in relation to the energy transition. Jared has deep experience advising both access seekers and asset operators on negotiated access, revenue resets and regulatory enforcement proceedings, including under a range of National and State-based regulatory frameworks.
Background
Jared holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Queensland, and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance from Macquarie University.
