Jasmine is a Senior Associate in the Environment, Planning and Communities team, specialising in major project delivery.

Jasmine works closely with clients to navigate the complex patchwork of environment, planning and social licence regulation to deliver major energy and infrastructure projects across Australia. She has gained broad experience across the entire lifecycle of projects, both as a trusted external legal advisor and as part of in-house legal teams. 

Jasmine has advised on approvals, regulatory and compliance issues in the renewable energy, oil and gas and mining sectors, with a particular focus on environmental approvals, native title and indigenous cultural heritage. Jasmine is committed to reconciliation with First Nations Australians with honest engagement, hearing truth-telling, and promoting indigenous peoples’ stewardship of Country. 

Background

Jasmine has a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Communications from Bond University and a Master of Laws from the University of Queensland.

  • Cultural heritage – lead engagement with First Nations peoples to successfully negotiate cultural heritage management plans and cultural heritage protocols for major projects.
  • Environmental incident management and compliance – advising on environmental incident reporting and strategy for engaging with the environmental regulator.
  • Regulatory reform – advising on environmental law reform and implications for major energy and infrastructure projects. 
  • Linear infrastructure – advised on land access strategy for linear infrastructure project, drafted option and easement documents, and managed easement registration process (including stamp duty).
