Lachlan is a Partner in the Tokyo Projects, Energy and Mining team.
Based in Tokyo, Lachlan has advised on projects in more than 45 countries on six continents, many of which are 'first' of their kind, precedent setting or high-stakes transactions. His practice spans the entire energy sector, including oil & gas, including refining and petrochemicals and LNG, power, including conventional, nuclear and renewable power, and sustainable fuels, including hydrogen and ammonia and other new energies. Lachlan also has experience advising on mining and metals and infrastructure projects internationally.
Lachlan has been recognised as a Next Generation Partner in Legal 500 - Projects and Energy in Japan (Gaiben), and previously in Singapore. He has been described as an "excellent negotiator, patient, and extremely commercial and practical," (Legal 500 APAC 2022).

Background
Lachlan holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Bachelor of Arts (Hons), and Diploma of Modern Languages (Arabic) from the University of Melbourne.
He is licensed to advise in Japan as a Gaikokuho Jimu Bengoshi, and is admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales and of the Supreme Court of Victoria, Australia.
