Lauren is a senior associate in the London Technology, Media and Telecommunications team. 

Lauren is a commercial and transactional lawyer who advises on commercial, IT, technology and data protection matters across a variety of sectors, including the government and financial sectors.  She works with both public and private sector clients on a range of complex outsourcing, commercial, business transformation and data commercialisation projects.

Recent matters include strategic IT procurements for TfL and government departments, advising on data commercialisation matters and advising clients on their ongoing UK GDPR and GDPR compliance.

  • Transport for London on the procurement of a replacement and improvement of the current automatic vehicle location system for the London bus network, London River Service and London Trams (that includes modules in respect of the supply, installation and maintenance of on-bus hardware, the use of real-time passenger information and back office management services)
  • Transport for London on the competitive tender process for the re-procurement of service desk and desk side support services for TfL from a single service provider
  • The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) in relation to the successful re-procurement and technology transformation of its operational service management capability, which will establish a new service centre for managing MoD’s complex IT needs
  • MoD on an IT and business services outsourcing for experienced IT personnel, support services, and logistics services for IT hardware
  • a major UK government department on a three-part technology procurement and outsourcing programme for managed print services, records management and document security services, and management of enterprise-wide productivity software
  • a UK government department on its procurement of support services for a range of non-standard and legacy technology solutions using the new UK government-wide 'Technology Services 3' framework. This was one of the first uses of Technology Services 3 following its launch in July 2021
  • a leading automotive manufacturer on a global, group wide data management and commercialisation project, whereby we advised on the full lifecycle of data collection, aggregation and commercialisation of a diverse data set
  • The European Bank of Reconstruction and Development on the first generation outsourcing of its infrastructure, networks, and security, including matters in connection with its unique privileges, immunities and exemptions
  • ElectraLink on procuring and negotiating an Energy Market Data Hub, including the IT and communications services used by ElectraLink to deliver the Data Transfer Service ("DTS") to electricity DNOs and other market participants, and exit from the current contract
  • an Asian gaming company on its compliance with the GDPR including reviewing key documents and policies, considering data transfers between its various entities and considering the extra-territorial effect of the GDPR
  • a global fast moving consumer goods company on the data privacy aspects of its innovative global recruitment initiative, including preparing required documentation and other GDPR compliance and commercial issues
  • a multi-national media company on its potential exposure to regulatory and customer/individual data subject liability following a data breach, including advice in relation to the application of Article 82 GDPR
  • KPMG LLP on the data protection aspects of the sale of its: (i) pensions advisory business, a division which advises clients on the management of pension assets worth over £50 billion; and (ii) restructuring business, a division which, post-completion, will become the UK's largest independent restructuring and turnaround business.  We advised on the full lifecycle of each transaction, including data protection considerations arising from the deal structures, to the transaction documents and practical considerations around transferring data from KPMG to the relevant new entities
