Nikita Jhunjhunwala
Nikita is an associate specializing in Commercial Litigation, Corporate Crimes and Investigations.
Nikita focuses her practice on commercial litigation matters. She advises domestic and international clients across a range of sectors, including construction, infrastructure, steel, energy and mining, financial services, and real estate.
She has extensive experience in commercial litigation and international arbitration. She represents clients in high-value, complex disputes, including those arising out of construction and infrastructure contracts, shareholder agreements, share purchase agreements and financial disputes with large financial institutions. She is commercial litigator with experience at all stages of the dispute resolution process. She has successfully represented clients in matters before all courts in India, as well as in several arbitral forums.
Background
Nikita graduated with an LLM from Columbia Law School where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. While at Columbia Law School Nikita worked as a research assistant with Prof George A. Berman.
Nikita also holds a dual degree in Law and Arts from Gujarat National Law University, India. She is currently also pursuing her MBA from Monroe Kings College, New York.
Prior to joining Herbert Smith Freehills, Nikita worked as a Principal/Managing Associate at an Indian law firm Khaitan & Co LLP.
Nikita is admitted as an advocate in India and is certified by New York State Bar however admission is in process. Nikita’s languages include English, Hindi and Bengali.
