Peiwen is a Partner in the firm's corporate practice with a focus on private equity, M&A and joint ventures. 

Peiwen Co-Heads our Private Capital practice in Asia and regularly advises sophisticated financial sponsors, strategic corporates and sovereign wealth funds on cross-border transactions across various jurisdictions, including Singapore, Greater China, Taiwan, India, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Australia and UK, with a particular focus on renewable energy, healthcare and infrastructure transactions. 

Peiwen is recognised by 2023 APAC Legal 500 rankings as a Next Generation Partner in Private Equity.

Background

Peiwen is dual-qualified in Hong Kong and Australia (Victoria). Peiwen is fluent in English and Chinese and has working proficiency in Japanese.

  • The Carlyle Group on its US$490 million strategic acquisition of a 20 percent stake in Piramal Pharma, the pharmaceutical division of Piramal Enterprises Limited, one of India's leading diversified companies, with a presence in financial services, information management and pharmaceuticals
  • The Carlyle Group acquisition of a majority stake in SeQuent Scientific Limited, the largest pure-play animal healthcare company in India, with global operations
  • GIC on its USD$1.75billion joint venture with Gentari, a PETRONAS subsidiary, to develop a global green ammonia platform to facilitate production of hydrogen
  • Everstone in its disposal of a minority equity interest in a Singapore HQ, India op. IT/ call centre company to Warbug Pincus
